ÜBER UNS - WIE ALLES BEGANN

Am 14.Mai 2000 haben 14 schwule Männer, die auch bei anderen Projekten und Partys, z.B. SchwuZ, aha, u.a. aktiv mitarbeiteten, den Verein "Ajpnia" gegründet. Seit dem 2. August 2000 sind wir ein eingetragener Verein. Danach haben wir geeignete Räume gesucht und nach gemeinsamen Vorstellungen und Plänen ausgebaut. Wir arbeiten ehrenamtlich und erhalten keinerlei Förderung von öffentlicher Seite. Unsere Zielsetzung ist die Organisation und Durchführung eigenständiger Veranstaltungsreihen in unseren Vereinsräumen, mit denen wir einen Beitrag zur Verbreitung von Safer Sex leisten und umsetzen, ohne dabei auf Spaß und gemeinsame Aktivitäten zu verzichten.
Nach 13 erfolgreichen Jahren mussten wir unser angestammtes Domizil in der Eisenacher Straße verlassen und die Existenz des "Ajpnia" stand damit monatelang auf der Kippe. In letzter Minute konnten wir eine neue Bleibe finden. Kleiner als die alte, etwas weiter ab vom Szeneleben, aber trotzdem gut erreichbar.
Im Eingangsbereich zahlst Du den Eintrittspreis und ziehst zumindest deine Schuhe aus, denn es liegt überall frisch gesaugter Teppichboden. Ansonsten kannst Du an-und ausziehen was Du möchtest. Die meisten Gäste tragen Unterwäsche oder auch gar nichts, denn es ist bei uns angenehm warm.
Einen "Dresscode" gibt es bei uns nicht, denn es soll sich keiner zu etwas gezwungen fühlen. Wer unsicher ist oder, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, lieber etwas Kleidung anbehalten möchte, darf und soll das gerne tun. Deine Sachen kommen in eine nummerierte Box an der Garderobe, die Du Dir natürlich auch jederzeit geben lassen kannst. Die Garderobe ist bewacht. Du kannst also Geld, Wertsachen, Mobiltelefon (ausgeschaltet!), etc. dort lassen und musst es nicht mit Dir herum tragen. Du erhälst ein Armband mit der Nummer Deiner Box. Damit kannst Du dann an der Bar Getränke bestellen und bequem am Ende Deines Besuches an der Garderobe bezahlen.
Neben dem Bar/Cafébereich haben wir im Erdgeschoss die Toiletten sowie eine Dusche. Wenn Du duschen möchtest, frage einfach beim Einlass nach einem frischen Handtuch. Das Untergeschoss bietet unseren ‘Verkehrsbereich‘ mit unterschiedlich hellen und in der Größe variierenden Séparées und Spielflächen, Betten und einer Videoecke. Kondome und Gleitgel liegen im Club aus und werden auch regelmäßig nachgefüllt. Wir würden uns freuen, Dich als Gast in unserer Mitte begrüßen zu dürfen. Die Mitarbeiter vom Ajpnia arbeiten unentgeltlich. Der Verein bezieht keine öffentlichen Gelder. Alles wird von den Teilnehmergebühren und dem Verkauf von Getränken finanziert. Kondome, Gleitgel, ja sogar Gummibärchen und kostenlose Handtücher für die Dusche - jeder Cent den wir verdienen, geht zurück in den Club für das Wohl unserer Gäste. Wenn ein Mitarbeiter keinen Dienst hat, ist er ein normaler Gast. Egal ob sie privat oder dienstlich im Club sind, wir haben ein "Ziel": einen wundervollen Abend und eine tolle Zeit im Ajpnia zu verbringen!
About us - how things all began ...
Ajpnia was founded on 14th May 2000 by a group of 14 gay guys who had previously been actively involved in other projects and parties including at Schwuz and aha. The club has been a registered association since 2nd August 2000. Thereafter we looked for suitable premises and then converted them in line with our shared ideas and plans. We all work as volunteers and the club receives no public funding at all. Our aim is to organise and stage a series of independent events in our club rooms and thereby help to promote safer sex, without foregoing any of the fun and mutual enjoyment.
After 13 successful years we had to vacate our original premises on Eisenacher Strasse and for a
few months the very existence of Ajpnia hung in the balance. At the very last minute we were able to find new premises. Although smaller than the old club, and a little further away from the heart of the gay scene on Motzstrasse, the new club is still easy to get to.
At reception you pay the admission charge and we ask you to take off at least your shoes as the
main areas of the club are carpetted, freshly hoovered before every party. It is entirely up to you
what else you then take off or leave on. Most guests either wear briefs or nothing at all as it is
pleasantly warm in the club.
We don't have a dress-code as such, as we feel no one should be forced to do anything they don't
want to. If you feel a little bit self-conscious, or for any other reason whatsoever, you wish to keep
some items of clothing on, then please feel free to do just that. You then place your belongings into a numbered box at reception. You can access this box at any time you wish to during the party. The reception area is never left unattended so you can safely leave any cash, valuables and mobiles (switched off, please) in your box, rather than having to carry them around with you. You then get an armband with the same number as your box on. With this armband you can order drinks at the bar and conveniently pay for them at reception at the end of your visit.
Apart from the bar/café area, on the ground floor you will also find the toilets and a shower. If you want to have a quick shower, just ask for a towel at reception. In the basement below is where a lot of the 'action' takes place and where there are private booths and larger communal areas of different sizes and lit in different ways, beds and a video corner. Supplies of condoms and lube can be found in bowls strategically placed around the club and these are regularly topped up. We would be very pleased to welcome you as a guest in our club. The staff at Ajpnia work on a voluntary basis and the club does not get any public funding.
Everything is financed out of the admission charges and from the sale of drinks. Condoms, lube,
even the jelly babies and the free towels for the shower – every cent we make is ploughed back into the club for the benefit of our guests. When members of staff aren't on duty they are usually here as normal guests. Whether here privately or to work we all have one common goal and that is to have a wonderful evening and a great time in Ajpnia!
